Tomasz Targosz specialises in intellectual property cases, in particular in disputes concerning copyright and related rights as well as patent law, and, furthermore, in unfair competition, antitrust, and consumer protection cases. He has represented clients in precedential disputes concerning the protection of pharmaceutical patents and copyright protection on the Internet, as well as in proceedings before the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, and in litigation related to appeals against his decisions, in cases involving the abuse of a dominant position, competition-restricting agreements, and practices infringing collective consumer interests. Since October 2009, ha has been a Partner in the firm.
Tomasz Targosz is the author and co-author of academic publications in the field of civil and commercial law, copyright law, new technologies law, and of many articles in law journals. He has been a speaker at conferences and training courses in Poland and abroad.
Tomasz Targosz, having graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, is now an assistant professor in the Chair of Intellectual Property Law at his alma mater. He is also a graduate of the School of American Law at the Jagiellonian University and the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, Washington. In 2004-2006, he was a member of the Graduate College of the universities of Krakow, Heidelberg and Mainz, a visiting fellow at Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law in Munich, and a member of the Rector’s Committee for Intellectual Property at the Jagiellonian University.
