In the latest ‘consumer’ issue of iKAR, Dr Iga Małobęcka-Szwast discusses price personalization from the perspective of an amendment to Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and the GDPR. Although price personalization is permitted under Directive 2019/2161, which amends Directive 2011/83/EU, this practice is lawful subject to new disclosure requirements and GDPR compliance, among other requirements, and this includes the rights of data subjects provided for in that legislation. These requirements and rights are discussed in detail in an article on Price personalization in light of the amendment to Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and the GDPR.
