Emilia Chmielewska

Her areas of practice include copyright law, industrial property law, civil law, and pharmaceutical law. She represents clients before common and administrative courts and the Supreme Court. She advises and participates in negotiations and mediations. She specializes in cooperation with industries related to architecture, construction, environmental protection and creative industries, especially film.  

She has participated in numerous conferences and training workshops in the field of intellectual property law and civil law. She conducts training in the field of copyright in architecture and construction. She is an author and co-author of scientific and popular science positions, among others: chapters of the Pharmaceutical Law monograph (Wolters Kluwer, 2016) devoted to online pharmacies and patients’ rights at the pharmacy, as well as articles in the Scientific Journal of the Jagiellonian University regarding the issues of common warranty trademarks.

Emilia has been awarded the prize of the Minister of Economy in a competition for the best habilitation and doctoral thesis or the best master’s and student dissertation on intellectual property, organised by the Polish Patent Office, for her work entitled Nadużycie prawa do znaku towarowego poprzez używanie w funkcji wspólnego znaku towarowego gwarancyjnego [Abuse of trademark rights by using it as collective guarantee trademark].

She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University. She also participated in specialist courses, including in negotiation techniques (University of Michigan), psychology of witness interview (Open University), theory and brand management (University of East Anglia) and issues of international law (Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, UCLouvain.

She fluently speaks English.
