|As a member of the IT-Telco team, Magdalena Gąsowska-Paprota advises clients operating in the IT industry. She provides advisory services in the areas of new technologies law, including copyright in computer software, telecommunications law and personal data protection law. She has extensive consultancy experience in preparing, verifying and negotiating e.g. implementation, maintenance and cloud computing agreements for IT projects. She also provides legal advice on large infrastructure projects implemented with EU funds and on projects implement under public procurement. In her earlier practice, she dealt with patent law, in particular as regards the patenting of software in US law. |
Magdalena is co-author of a report on public-private partnership regulations in selected countries of the European Union, including Poland, prepared at the request of the Ministry of Digital Affairs. She has also co-authored and authored publications on IT, industrial property law and personal data protection published in technical journals such as Ochrona Danych Osobowych [Personal Data Protection] or IT Professional: “Rola współdziałania zamawiającego we wdrożeniu systemu IT – zagadnienia prawne” [“The Role of the Client’s Cooperation in Implementing an IT System – Legal Issues”] (with Agnieszka Wachowska, December 2016); “Jak opatentować oprogramowanie?” [“How to Patent Software”] (October 2016), “Branżowe kodeksy postępowania” [“Sector-Specific Codes of Conduct”] (June 2017).
Magdalena graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She is the winner and participant of international competitions for law students, as well as a recipient of an Erasmus scholarship. She is a graduate of the School of American Law organised by the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, and the Jagiellonian University.
She is fluent in English, speaks French, and is learning Spanish.
