Beata Baran is an attorney-at-law and specialises in labour law and compliance, with particular focus on whistleblowing and internal inquiries. She has broad experience in handling both local and international projects, and advises clients in the banking & finance, pharma, retail and TSL sectors.
Beata Baran is the author of numerous scientific studies on internal inquiries, whistleblowing, compliance, labour law, criminal law enforcement, access to public information, and human rights. She publishes in Polish, English and Ukrainian.
She is a researcher at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, and has worked with the Faculty of Management of the AGH University of Science and Technology. She is registered with the Krakow bar association.
She completed scientific and research internships in Heidelberg (Carls-Ruprecht Universität Heidelberg), Kiev (Kiev-Mohyla Academy) and Sofia (St. Kliment Ohrydzsky University). She is a graduate of the School of Ukrainian Law at the Jagiellonian University, Ivan Franko University of Lviv, and Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. She also completed the 9th Jan Karski Academy of Young Diplomats.
She was a member of the 21st Permanent Session of the UN Human Rights Council (Geneva) and the 4th Forum on Minority Issues of the UN Human Rights Council (Geneva). She actively supports pro publico bono the circles of young scientists and law students. She has frequently sat on the Board of the International European Law Students’ Association (Brussels) and the Board of the National Representation of PhD Students (Warsaw).
She is fluent in English and Ukrainian.
