Zbigniew Pinkalski, Ph.D.

His area of specialisation is intellectual property law, law of media and advertisement, pharmaceutical law, as well as sport law and competition law, with particular emphasis on legal protection of information and know-how. He provides legal advice to business clients and cultural institutions. He handles court proceedings for market leaders in pharmaceutical, telecommunications, chemical, and cosmetic industries, for whom whom he represents in court proceedings, e.g. litigations won before the Supreme Court of Poland. 

Expert of the standing committee of The Polish Council for Supplements and Nutritional Foods (KRSiO) and referee in the Disciplinary Court for advertising of dietary supplements created by KRSiO, Polfarmed, Pasmi and Suplementy Polska. Member of the Rules and Legal Committee of the Malopolska Football Association. Laureate of a plebiscite organised by the “Gazeta Prawna” daily: “Rising Stars – lawyers, leaders of tomorrow” (2016 edition, 5th place in the ranking).

He is a speaker at conferences and seminars on abovementioned areas of law, and a lecturer on e-marketing postgraduate studies at the Lazarski Academy. Author of legislative expertise for the Center for Research, Studies and Legislation of the National Council of Legal Adviser.
Author of monography Prawna ochrona formatów telewizyjnych [Legal protection of TV formats] (distinguished with the award of the Polish National Broadcasting Council (Krajowa Rada Radiofonii I Telewizji) for the best book of the year devoted to the electronic media market), and numerous publications in professional press, blogosphere, and prestigious scientific journals on subjects including the so-called “ambush marketing”, scope of protection in copyrights, brand management, know-how protection, law of advertisement and commercial promotion and press law.

Zbigniew Pinkalski is a researcher at the Department of Intellectual Property Law of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University. He also conducts classes as part of the pro publico bono legal education cycle organized by the Cracow Bar Association He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University. In 2014, he obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Law at the Jagiellonian University, and his doctoral thesis was distinguished with an award granted by the Minister of Culture and National.
