Zbigniew Pinkalski, PhD
Bio
Zbigniew’s practice focus is intellectual property law and new technologies, media and advertising, and gaming and competition law, with a particular focus on data and know-how protection. He advises corporate clients, industry organizations, and cultural institutions. Zbigniew handles court cases for the top companies in telecommunications, IT, chemicals, cosmetics, and other fields, and has a successful track record in litigation cases before the Supreme Court.
He was placed fifth in the Gazeta Prawna Rising Stars – lawyers, leaders of tomorrow 2016 ranking. He is an arbiter at the Disciplinary Court for advertising of dietary supplements created by the KRSiO, Polfarmed, Pasmi and Suplementy Polska.
He is an assistant professor at the Chair of Intellectual Property Law, Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University. Zbigniew is a lecturer on the new technologies law postgraduate course on gaming contracts at the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences (INP PAN), and lectures on intellectual property law in bar training provided by the Cracow Bar Association. He has written legislative opinions for the National Bar Association Center for Research, Studies and Legislation.
He conducts training and speaks at seminars and conferences on the areas of law described above, including at gaming conferences (Digital Dragons). He is the author of Prawna ochrona formatów telewizyjnych [Legal protection of TV formats], for which he was awarded a prize by the Polish National Broadcasting Council (Krajowa Rada Radiofonii I Telewizji) for the best book of the year on the electronic media market, and numerous publications in the professional press, blogosphere, and prestigious academic journals.
